Research Interests
I am interested in developing and improving techonology that enables improved imaging capabilities for medical and research use. I am particularly interested in using such technology to study biological phenomena to obtain a better understanding of the way the world functions. My lab conducts research using optical coherence tomography (OCT), an imaging modality using broad-band light to obtain high resolution images of a sample under study. In particular, we use OCT to image the human retina, small research animals, and individual cells. We are working to develop better ways of using OCT as well as to expand the range of applications in experimental research.
Outside Interests
I enjoy music, playing the guitar, outdoor recreation, ultimate frisbee, volunteering and tutoring in the local community, hanging out with friends, and studying the Bible.
